should I wake my baby at night when she has wind?

My wee one is 6 weeks old and struggles with wind at night. My dilemma is whether to wake her and try to assist in the shifting of the wind or check for a burp if she is smiling- I have done this and ended up with a 2 hour grumpy baby but leaving her can result in a vomit if I miss a burp.I have also left her to squirm and wriggle and she can seem rather distressed but sleeps as soon as it passes. If she doesnt wake herself should I basically not wake a sleeping baby??? I'm not sure I'm helping by intervening-am I making matters worse?
