pnd Cipralex anyone on these?

I stopped taking prozac 1st jan after 4mths on them and my pnd was ok now it's back with a vengance.

My doc has perscribed Cipralex is anyone on these what side effects and has anyone tried coming off them.

I have just finished taking cipralex, I found them very good but unfortunately the dosage couldn't go higher than 10mg as they are a relatively new anti-depressant. I've now been on Lustral (sertraline) for nearly four weeks and though I still feel very down and fed up I feel slightly better. I didn't notice any side effects whilst taking them and none when I came off them either.

As chiccadum has said they only go up to 10mg, depending on how badly you are suffering from PND, this might be enough for you. If not then do not hesitate to go back to the doctor.

Just remember that one day you WILL get better.

I'm on them, and they are good so far. I've been on them since January, and I noticed a reduction in panicky/worried feelings within a week. I also felt a bit happier, although that could have been psychological! I'm surprised that you stopped taking your ADs after 4 months - usually it is recommended to take anything for 6 months at least. Anyway, I did get a few side efects for a couple of weeks; reduced appetite, dizzyness, feelings of being full of adrenaline, but these went. I also have a slightly reduced libido.

It's good to know others are on these and not climbing up the walls.I came off of prozac against doc's orders i get a lot of pressure from my mother every time i see her (which is quite a lot) she always comments "isn't it about time u came off those pills and it's those pills that are making you like you are"etc.Which i found really hard to cope as it took me a very long time to pluck up the courage to start them in the first place.Im constantly in denial with myself that i don't have pnd as i'm normally such a capable person.My husband ignors any reference to this as he thinks i'm ok i try talking to him but all he says is he can't understand something he's never been through.

What's libido? isn't that a outdoor swimming pool, or somthing happy couples have b 4 kids!!!

Anyway today was ok I haven't yet cried came close but managed to hold back.Just waiting to see what the tablets can do.

Well Mands - I have hit a bad day, but am hoping that it is a blip. I would say not to listen to your Mum over this, do what you feel is right.

sorry to hear you are having a bad day I don't really like giving advise because when people do the same for me i read or listen and i already know what they are saying is right BUT it doesn't stop me feeling like i do.Say when i feel guilty and feel like i'm a bad mum deep down i really know i'm not but i just can't help feeling that i am.Crazy world.

It's just nice to know there are other women like me sitting in front of this screen who know what it's like.
