Has anyone else's Mirena coil moved?

Had a smear yesterday. Apparently my coil "isn't visible" and may even have dropped out .

Anyway, got to go for an ultrasound to search for the missing little blighter and probably have a new one fitted.

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this.

God it's busy on here tonight.

One final bump before I tell dh to get his miner's helmet on and send him in.

Just because they cannot see the threads of your coil does not necessarily mean it is in the wrong place.

The threads may have just gone back on themselves through the cervix, or may have been cut very short.

The ultrasound will show if it is in position.

Oh that's reassuring, thank you.

I'm not too worried about it, to be honest, it's just a bit of a hassle.
