I've completely screwed up my pill...does it matter when I start taking it again?

As a thirty something I know I should have more of a grip but I've forgotten to take my pill so much this month. My period started a couple of days ago and I have no idea when I should have started the break. Does it really matter when I start taking it again?

Thanks

Surey the key thing is that you won't be protected against pregnancy wih it now or for the first 7 days that you take it?

Ring NHS direct or speak to your pharmacist as there are different types of pill. It's usually 21 days of pill from the first day of your period then 7 day-break but if you are on the mini-pill it is probably different.
