Was going to name change but what the hell. Describe cystitus to me as something is wrong with my nether regions.

It's like weeing glass. You get a burny feeling down below and sometimes crampy feeling in your lower abdomen i've only had it once and once was enough!

Bink · 26/10/2008 23:51

Um. Much worse than mutton-roasting.
Burning low gut ache; the sort of thing you think you could relieve with a wee. But then when you wee you think the world is going to end. And even worse when you stop weeing. God it's awful. If you have that, get yourself to A&E as, as the medical person said to me "It's on its way to your kidneys"

ledodgy · 26/10/2008 23:52

You also feel like you need a wee all the time and when you go it's just a trickle.

solidgoldskullonastick · 26/10/2008 23:52

Cystitis: constant desperate urge to pee but not much comes out, and it burns. Also low backache and general unwellness. What are your symptoms?

DippyDora · 26/10/2008 23:53

Oh how it burns!

twinsetandpearls · 26/10/2008 23:54

No don't have that, I need to wee a lot anyway but no more than usual.

But it is hot down there and swollen. No real pain when I wee just a slight burning.

i posted a fairly similar thread a few weeks ago, yes made much worse by a bit of erm hankywotsit. Burning when you wee, feeling constantly like you need to go, feels like the pee is at boiling point, and whatever remaining pelvic floor you have has a 10lb baby sitting on it.
Cranberry juice and loads of water for now, get to the GP asap and get antibiotics, tis the only thing that shifts it for me. Don't know about anyone else but the over the counter stuff has no effect at all on my erm bits.

twinsetandpearls · 26/10/2008 23:55

Not itchy just irritating.

Thanks by the way for discussing my fanjo at this late hour.

Bink · 26/10/2008 23:55

PS. If you find you're becoming susceptible to it, making a rule of weeing & having a good rinse immediately after hanky-whatsit is a life & sanity saver.

twinsetandpearls · 26/10/2008 23:56

Could it be thrush?

OP posts:
Bink · 26/10/2008 23:56

Your symptoms sound more thrushy.

PhantomOfTheChocolateCakeAvena · 26/10/2008 23:56

It could be an infection of the fanjo tissue. You really do need to see your GP. It sounds like cellulitis. I would phone first thing if not call NHS direct and see the out of hours. Don't worry about where it is, they have seen it all before.

DippyDora · 26/10/2008 23:56

Thrush?

childrenofthecornsilk · 26/10/2008 23:56

Coul;d it be a yeast infection on it's way?

childrenofthecornsilk · 26/10/2008 23:57

Maybe take a canesten tablet just in case?

twinsetandpearls · 26/10/2008 23:58

I will get some canesten just in case. Am taking dd out for the dat tomorrow so don;t really want to go to the doctor.

meandmyjoe · 27/10/2008 07:43

It really sounds like thrush, I got it after taking antibiotics and it was just as you describe. Cystitus doesn't tend to cause swelling, it just burns and makes your bladder feel full all the time, then when you go to the loo it feels like it's boiling hot and just really stings. Caneston cream sorted mine out.

twinsetandpearls · 27/10/2008 09:16

Thanks meandmyjoe, I made the mistake of googling my symptoms when I could not sleep last night and managed to convince myself I had all sorts.
