dd3 is 2.5weeks old. her skin is very dry, flaking and peeling off all over. dd1+2 skins were the same, and they both devoloped eczema, dd1 as soon as the peeling stopped. i am using aquous cream on dd3, she hasnt had a drop of soap near her skin, didnt bath her till she was over a week old, before that she was just washed in water. and her abth is just plain water as well. she is fully breastfed, expcept for the formula they gave her in hospital.

misdee, I recently had the same when dd was around 10 wks. I was really upset as ds has had the worst eczema imaginable. We rushed off to the gp who prescribed Doublebase and told me to slpa it on liberally a few times a day. Her skin has now lost the dryness and flakiness and I am optimistic that she will be fine. When we used acqueous cream on ds it did make things worse and I know many people on here dont rate it as a treatment (though for others it works really well) so it might be worth trying Doublebase or Epaderm or some other emolient rather than the acqeous cream.

i asked the HV on monday about using doublebase (dd1+2 use it) but she wasnt sure if it was suitable for babies.
