Agonising pains in head and stomach, some dioareah (sp), feel sick all the time. Is getting worse rather than better.

Spke to NHS direct, who gave me advised stronger painkillers and water.

Feel so ill...took dd to a farm last week, is there any connection?

there is an awful bug going round at th emoment though ..adults who ve had it said it was lethal..theyve never felt so bad

Could be norovirus; it can strike at this time of year. It is highly contagious.

Would not think its anything to do with the farm particularly if you washed your hands thoroughly after the visit.

fizzbuzz · 25/10/2008 17:47

I haven't been sick at all, just felt sick, and I thought norovirus only lasted 3 days, whereas this little charmer is still hanging around and not improving at all

Didn't wash hands as didn't go in petting area which is where the wash basins are. Perhaps I should have. Have noticed a nasty called cryptosporidium is evident on farms and symptoms are suspiciously similar

Therein lies a lesson I suppose

we all had this bug over last weekend. DS was five days, DD over a week, DH one day and me about four days. DCs both threw up (DD once and DS every half hour for the first day) but neither DH nor I did.

I think it depends how strong your constitution is.

fizzbuzz · 25/10/2008 18:40

Mine is obviously completly crap then...

Many many sympathies
I have just returned to the land of the semi-well after 4 solid days in bed. I have seroiusly never felt as ill in my life for so long (and that is no exageration). NHS direct told dh he should call out the GP if I was still as bad on day 4 (I wasn't) and said to really try to keep drinking as the headache would get worse through dehydration. And despite the nausea I sipped drinks and forcefed myself some dry toast.
I can also say I have never smelt so bad, all that time sweating in a hot bed, and didn't clean my teeth either [yuck emoticon]

Anyway this afternoon I had a bath and washed my hair and cleaned my teeth and can actually be vertical with no ill effects. Feel completely knackered though.

I really hope the rest of the family don't get it, I wouldn't wish it on anyone.

Hope you get better soon.
