Periods after childbirth - what products do you use?

Auntie Flo has finally returned.

I gave birth 6 months ago, with forceps and an episiotomy. Now I'm finding tampon strings really uncomfortable - they rub against my scar, and are slightly painful to remove.

Please tell me I won't have to use sanitary towels forever (I hate wearing them and feel like an incontinent old lady!)

Do most people go back to tampons with no problems? Does my scar just need longer to completely heal?

Sorry if TMI.....

hi I gave birth 6 months ago too I didn' t have an episiotomy though but still find that tampon strings irritate as well.

I know my mum was cut having me and she always used tampax and it didn't bother her so I think we just have to be a little patient and stick to the pads a while longer. Yuk!

This is the only time I am grateful for two sections.
