Ds has been ill on/off for last few months, mainly coughs colds, tonsils etc nothing major. But have noticed that he now has huge glands in his neck..... is this a sign that something is brewing or is it normal after having had virus's?
Also, he is due to have flu jab tomorrow as he is asthmatic, he is only 3 1/2 and am getting a bit twitchy about it now, anyone else's little one had it?

The glands could well just be due to all the infections, poor wee thing. SOme kids are prone to swollen glands. IS ha ill just now? Your GP could give him a blood test to check, but it is not easy getting blood out out a lo as you can imagine. no harm asking for advice though.
I have no experience of los with the flu jab I'm afraid so can't help you there. All i know is that the (many) adults I know who have had it have been absolutely fine. Hopefully someone more knowledgable will come along shortly!

He is a poor wee thing... if there is a bug going he gets it! Also suffers terribly wih swollen adenoids... snores like a trooper. Not ill now but just not himself.

we were told not to give dd the flu jab (unecassary warning as we don't vaccinate anyhow) as she has a weak chest and is prone to pneumonia.

dont know about the flu jab, but my ds developed a golf ball size gland in his neck and lots of other large ones when he was about 4, never had no blood tests and never found a reason for it, thye are still there now, but not as bad, if you search the archives on swollen lymph nodes you will find all my hysterical rambling posts and all the really helpful answers i recieved.
as for the flu jab, check with the nurse before he has it just to make sure its still ok.

Loopy.. have just searched archives on enlarged lymph nodes.... kind of feel better, ta for that am a bit dopey should have done it before.
Will defo check with the nurses about flu jab b4 he gets it, dr suggested it because he has had 7 lots of a/b this year (so far) mostly related to his chest and throat, never seems to get a little bit poorly with a cold but proper poorly instead! Am not a big fan of flu jab really but have seen him ill so much this year that am just trying to give him a chance this winter.
