DH has solved the problem of getting medicine down DD - IMO he is Father of the Year!

DD was diagnosed with a nasty chest infection today and prescribed antibiotics.

When we got home I tried everything to get her to take a spoonful and was contemplating the old favourite - pinning her to the floor and force feeding her, which no-one enjoys doing.

I even tried bribery, but it just resulted in her running to hide and sob by the front door. She wouldn't even try a tiny taste of it and cried if I asked her if she would let Daddy give it her when he got home - you get the idea!

DH walked through the front door and before they had even left the hallway she had agreed to take her medicine.

He simply explained to her that this medicine was just like the plasters she has on her knees, but for her tummy and inside of her chest.

I would never have thought of that - the man is a genius!

I am bumping this just in case anyone is trying to convince their DCs to take any meds. I am still gobsmacked that she's happily downing her medicine.

Just an update - this method still works a month or so later - looks like a long-term fix!

He's a Wise Man

Though it wouldn't work for dd1, who hates plasters

Luckily, she loves most medicines, strange child.
