He was doing really well, and yesterday decided to walk around a bit more and came to my antenatal appt with me. Last night he woke me up (!!) to look at his balls which have gone a dark purple and were quite swollen. This morning they are still purple (less swollen but that could be because it's cold!!) and he has a lot of bruising around the stitches/wound where his op was done.

Is this to be expected? I did think bruising would take a while to show up and he was told about it when he had the op. Is he just being a bit precious about the family jewels?

TIA

puple swollen balls normal, thats where the blood and fluid tracks down. icepacks and ibuprofen (as long as he can have it). the purple colur may turn a highly attactive lurid yellow/ green.

Cheers for telling everyone...

Although, now it's out in the open, any other advice gratefully received.

So - if you've heard 'Blue Balls' were a myth, that's true, but this is definitely a case of 'Purple Balls'!

assume he had day surgery, they should have given him a number to ring if there were any problems - I'd definitely seek advice to be on the safe side
