Desperately seeking advice from any fellow vaginal prolapse sufferers!

I'm due to have surgery in a few weeks time to fix a large cystocele (prolapsed bladder), small rectocele (prolapsed bowel) and to fix my perineum and would love to hear from anyone who has had similar surgery for advice - particularly on how quickly they recovered. The only advice I've had from the hospital is that I should take 6 weeks off work and avoid lifting things for 3 months! Seeing as I'm on maternity leave with 6 month old DS2 and also looking after 4 year old DS1, it's going to be impossible to avoid lifting - going back to work would be positively restful in comparison. My husband is only able to take a couple of days off and then my mum is able to help for another couple of days but she is arthritic and can find it hard to pick DS2 up from the floor. Am I mad to consider having this operation now...will there ever be a good time...I've had problems since birth of DS1 4 years ago which have been exacerbated by birth of DS2 - both births were pretty good home births but I think the damage was done by being too active post natally. I think I've basically got weak connective tissue...it's a gene thing. I'll stop rambling - please advise...
