No cold but v sniffly nose - any ideas?

Had a cold about a fortnight ago. Got over it and since have had a consistently runny nose. I really do not now have a cold - no other symptoms, nothing.

Cannot think of anything I may be allergic to either.

It's so annoying, I'm constantly blowing my nose and getting those flaky bits of skin on there (yucky). I feel like a dog, my nose is so wet.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Sorry if it's a bit gross.

I know you can't think of anything you are allergic to, but have you tried taking hayfever tablets for a couple of days to see if that fixes it? I never used to get hayfever at all, but over the years I've started getting it, and reacting to different things - I stopped the summer sneezing for about three weeks, but something else is now geting to me and I'm back on hayfever pills this week.

Yes me too! Had cold two weeks ago, definitely finished yet now have constant running nose. I know it's not a sinus infection as I have had them in the past. I just want to be snot free again.

try using Beconase or another steroid nasal spray for a couple of weeks to settle down any inflammation, that should do the trick.

I am on a nasal spray, been so for years which is strange why I can't control the flowing stream. It may help "If You Didn't Laugh You'd Cry" though.

AMumInScotland - you've just helped me on another thread too! I do get hayfever, like you, it arrived like a little present back in Summer 06 [grrr]. But maybe worth a shot.

Pandora - finally I have found someone who also has the same problem. It sounds really pathetic but it's so annoying isn't it. I must sound pretty disgusting to all my colleagues and then you wake up at night with sore throat because you can't breathe through nose blah blah blah.

I'll give tablets and spray a try. Thanks Geekgirl
