UTI on three day course antibiotics - when will pain subside?

Hi,i got diagnosed with UTI and am on three day course of trimethoprim. Only one tablet left to take. Feel better and pain is controlled by paracetemol. JUst wondering how long it takes to go completely as still get painful twinges. Never had UTI before so don't know.

erm, if you still have pain at this stage....go back to gp, because thpose ab's weren't the right ones...
once on ab's the pain is usually gone after a days of taking ab's

3 days is a very short course of ABs.

I thought 5 days was standard - increased to 7-10 in pg.

Agree if you are (essentially) at the end of the course with symptoms you need to be seen again.

Take a sample in when you go, too.

Hi, was reading up about trimethoprim. Apparently three day course works as well as 5 day course. Feeling a lot better now. Have a dr appt on Thurs anyway so will take sample if still bad

well, do make sure all is well, otherwise you end up with recurrent UTI's which isn't much fun
