Does anyone use the Implanon implant? Question re perods.

Well that's mostly the gist of it basically.

I've used Implanon for 2 years next month and up until now have never had any bleeding at all but over the last month or so have been bleeding on and off say for 3 days every 8 roughly.

At first I though it was just a period at first but now I'm worried has anyone else had this?

Oh dear so this isn't sommon then?

I had continued light bleeding with Implanon for approx 9 out of 12 months. The 'reaction' to them is very different from women to woman.

Do a mumsnet search lots of other threads will come up.

Firstly, do you take any medications (anticonvulsants) which could be interfering with it?

Implanon can give you irregular or short bleeds after an initial bleed-free period. There may also be a cause not related to the implanon such as infection or inflammation of the cervix or a cervical erosion.

I suggest that you go back and see your GP or FPC (whoever fitted it) as they should be able to help you.
