My dd1 2.5 is just getting over a chest infection ...I come home from work to find her looking awful (again!)Her eyes are very red and puffy and there is a bright yellow discharge coming from the inner corner of each eye.
Any ideas and should I be getting her checked out ?

need to go to a walk in centre and they'll give you antibiotic drops there and then. it definitely sounds like conjuncitivitis.

My dd has just got rid of her conjunctivitus. She has alot of eye infections (waiting for referal to specialist) but she was given Chloramphenicol.

It is very contagious so it will spread from one eye to the other in no time.

Ask for some Normasol/saline solution as well to clean her eye with. It's sterile and it gets rid of all the sticky stuff. Other than that use a weak solution of Johnsons baby shampoo. Works a treat.

Yes agree sounds like conjunctivitis. I got brolene eye creme for ds when he was 18 mths to treat this unil I could get to the gp. He gave antibiotic cream - 1 tube for each eye as it is very contagious. It cleared up really quickly.
