Help needed please! Sudden pain in four teeth! Any dentists around?

Thought I'd post here as appears to be a bit busier than the children's health board. My DD, aged 7, started complaining last night that her bottom four teeth (in the middle, central incisors) were hurting her. These are her adult teeth, she lost the baby ones around 6 months to a year ago. I didn't think much of it last night, she was tired, no mention of it this morning.

Then, tonight, for the past hour, she's been crying and biting hard on various objects (towels, corner of duvet), saying that these four teeth are causing large amounts of pain and can I phone the dentist? (Clearly I can't, as it's shut now, though will phone in morning).

Does anyone have any ideas as to what this could be? Can children have growing pains in their teeth? Should I give Calpol? And advice most welcome, thank you

Not a dentist but work for one...yes you can give calpol or nurofen. I would imagine it is probably a hole in tooth/abscess, I have never heard of growing pains in teeth .

Your dentist should have an emergency number on their answerphone if she is really in terrible pain and you don't feel it can wait until the morning!!

Thank you! She was actually at the dentist last week for a check up though, and no cavities or abcesses then. Plus the pain is in all four of the teeth! Very bizarre, I know!

also..sometimes pain can be hard to localise to one tooth as the nerve supplies more than one. So pain in four teeth doesn't rule out simple toothache.

Did you talk to dentist today?

Could it be that she's growing some of her other teeth at the back, and they are putting pressure on her front teeth? This happens to my dd1, and the dentist said that this was the most likely cause as otherwise her teeth are in very good condition.
