Can you still poison yourself with carbon monoxide from your car exhaust or not with newer model cars?

why? something you're contemplationg?

nervousal · 03/09/2008 16:08

think newer model cars have reduced CO2 - not CO. but why the question?

missingtheaction · 03/09/2008 16:10

if a car has a catalytic converter then it is very hard indeed to poision yourself in the traditional manner by stuffing a hosepipe up the exhaust and piping the fumes into the car, although it will make you feel very poorly. There are ways of getting round this but I am not going to tell you what they are until I hear why you want to know???

Hi allgonebellyup,

Are you OK? I've just searched for your recent posts, as your OP worried me, and see that you have had suicidal thoughts before, and recently. I also see that tomorrow is going to be a difficult day for you, so think you could be in a really dark place at the moment.

PLEASE DON'T DO ANYTHING SILLY!

Please remember that your children need you alive! If they lose you, their lives will be ruined forever. Please try to get help, so you can be there for them as they grow up. I'm sure things can get better for you if you get help.

Is there anyone in RL who you can talk to? Have you called the Samaritans? - tel 08457 909090 - www.samaritans.org/. What about your doctor or NHS direct?

Please get help!

my best friend did this, and had a long painful death trapped in a body she could not move..... Her fingernails were bleeding and brused, cos she changed her mind but was paralised from the CM, scratch marks on the car door....
