painful sex after baby.....

....any advice? DD is 8 months now. I have deep pain during sex (i had an emCS) and the gp told me it was my cervix that was tender, not the vagina or the CS scar. I hadd an US scan yesterday, no fibroids or ovarian cysts: all normal.
Any advice?

I haven't had a CS but have heard that sex can be painful after one. Have you been referred to a consultant gynae?

not yet, but i think i will ask my gp when i see her next. The CS scar was ok when my GP was examining it, though.

My DS is 10 months old and should I admit it , but only had sex 3 times since he was born. Very painful, almost as if I am too tight (probably tmi), but does improve as things progress (ahem).
Has put me off. But each time it gets better. I am going to try a couple more times and then go to the Doctor.
Not really helping much, but I think it can be very common.
I wondered if your Doctor gave you any more information?

no, she seemed to be unsure what it could be. She did say that the cervix was more prominent than the six week check, so my pelvic floor may have been weak and it all may have dropped. I have started exercising in earnest again and stopped straining on the loo.
We have been dtd about every two weeks since dd was two months and it hasn't improved for the last two months or so

I had an emergency CS and had sex again for the first time about 4 weeks afterards. There was no pain whatsoever internally, either the first time or subsequently.

I have never heard that sex can be more painful after a CS and it certainly wasn't my expereince, or the expereince of any of my friends who've had one. On the contrary, sex should theoretically be less painful after a CS as you haven't been "interfered with" down there so the area shouldn't be traumatised as it is in a vaginal birth. Mine was completely normal afterwards.

I think it depends on the individual and one person's experience will never be exactly the same as another's.

I hope the pain subsides for you soon.

Also desperate to get some help with this! Had an emergency csection 8 months ago to an amazing and large little girl!

Been trying to have sex since then (not a sex drive issue) but its too painful for full penetration :( it really hurts and full sex hasn't been an option. Husband is fairly well endowed but its never been an issue before. Went to the GP at 6 months who wouldn't proscribe oestrogen cream and proscribed better lube. It's not helped. Periods not returned yet... Still breast feeding.

Anyone any advice it's really worrying me.

I found it painful and a smear test very uncomfortable. It got better ince i stopped. So in theory the lube might help you.
