...and have namechanged to save face but here goes ...

Is it possible to lose your tampon?

I really really really can't remember whether i have taken my tampon out or not (actually convinced that i haven't taken it out) and now i can't find it

Has this happened to anyone else? Was it still up there or had you taken it out without thinking (this is a distinct possibility)? What did you do?

Realllllllllly don't want to have a trip to docs

Am imagining all sorts or TSS symptons too

Please help/advise

Just for future ref- you SHOULD be able to reach far enough up to touch the end of a tampon, especially after DCs as your cervix usually drops a bit so less space for tampon.

giraffescantdancethetango · 19/08/2008 20:45

ah well least you know now lol well done for going

Slickbird · 21/08/2008 14:40

Loupylou6 - It took my preg head TWO whole days to understand what you meant and then I was lying in my bed feeling very sick and then it came to me 'SLACKBIRD' Def. more appropriate!!! LOL. Sigh. This pregnancy business isn't easy.

cadelaide · 21/08/2008 14:44

Don't worry Slacky, I didn't get it either!

Slickbird · 21/08/2008 14:45

I can feel a new nickname coming on....

tiredemma · 21/08/2008 14:50

I left one up there once, it must have been up there for a few days, I must have thought that I had taken it out and continued to put 'new' ones up there.

When I finally realised and fished it out, it smelt of what I imagine a rotting corpse would smell like.

ugh.

A friend of mine told me a story from her fathers gp practice, in their home. A woman came in, bulging belly, had not had her period for three months. She thought she was pregnant, but her tummy was hurting quite a bit.
The doctor investigated, and out came a tampon with 3 months worth of periods....

Slickbird · 21/08/2008 14:56

NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

tiredemma · 21/08/2008 14:56

QS- You have to joking.

Is that an urban myth??

QuintessentialShadows · 21/08/2008 15:01

No, sadly it was not an urban myth. The poor girl (my friend) came to school the next day unable to eat she was still feeling sickened. When her father realized what was happening, he had to call his wife (also a doctor but not working at his practice) and the nurse to come help. The door was left ajar and my friend being nosy had a glance in...

tiredemma · 21/08/2008 15:03

oh that is an awful story.

QuintessentialShadows · 21/08/2008 15:04

I know. It has put me of even trying a tampon.

loopylou6 · 21/08/2008 15:36

slickbird, you should of asked me lol, theres nothing worse than wrecking your head trying to figure something out

Slickbird · 21/08/2008 16:08

Don't worry, it's a daily occurance for me these days! [sink]

Slickbird · 21/08/2008 16:11

Of course that should be not [sink]. I mean, that just doesn't make sense. Nothing in my life seems to make any sense any more.....mutter...mutter...grumble...mutter....
