Painful breast -doesn't feel like a lump more a hard line from armpit to nipple

my 20mth DS is bf and feeding like a mad thing the last few days as he's teething.

A couple of days ago I had pain in my breast which eased of the following day.

Now the pain has come back with a vengance and I can't get a doctors appointment until the 19th August!

Any ideas ladies? I've had no problems with feeding up until now but it's bloody killing me to feed from that side as he's such a fidget.

sounds like mastitis. is there a red line in teh same place as the hurty bit?
If it starts hurting when you bend over, then I would get down to DR on call. Try massaging it when you feed, it mght just be a blockage still that you can shift while feeding.

Oh poor you, i have the same thing - it could be mastitis and is important to get some antibiotics asap to prevent it making you feel really rotten. You might be Ok as Saggy says but I don't chance it any more! Am off to out of hours in a while to get some

Well I tried massaging whilst he fed to sleep which has taken the edge off the pain but still feels hard in that area.

I think I'll keep massaging tomorrow and if no better will call out of hours tomorrow night.
