How old is she - does she still wear nappies? Thrush is common in children who still have nappies. You can buy special cream for it from the pharmacy.

You can get thrush from the area not being able to breathe in non-cotton underwear (or nappies) from using soap or bubble bath which upsets the balance of the vulva, from eating too much sugar/bread (carby sugary yeasty things) and from taking antibiotics. It's really common and nothing to worry about, easily treated with cream from the doctor/chemist.

no she hadnt worn nappies for a long time now...she is 3.

ill have a go using a non-bubble bath and the sugary things is mainly on fridays and sometimes in the week or weekend and bread (yeast wise) is just for lunch- sandwiches.

thanks for your advices.

ill take her to her docs for the special cream.

If she is at nursery it may be worms. Unfortunately they migrate to little girls bit and can make them quite sore.

biglips · 23/07/2008 13:29

crikey....worms!!!

how do i know its that??

If you look at night after she's gone to sleep, you can see them moving.

biglips · 23/07/2008 16:55

well i have checked and its not worms...

Take her to the drs, if they think it is thrush and it is does not respond to caestan cream then insist it is swabbed, it can be stuff like Strep A
