Grumbling appendics or pulled tummy muscles?

DS (9) has tummy pain on and off, each bout lasts for a couple of days, i put it down to a pulled muscle as its right at the bottom and always seems to occur after him doing something strenuous. This morning he woke me at 7 30 saying he had bad tummy pain, i gave him nurofen, no temp but he seemed a bit off colour, awhile after that he was sick, but this could of been down to a rich meal he had last night and he hasnt been sick since. Spoke to my mum and she suggested grumbling appendics, i googled this and have scared myself as it does sound likely, have made him an appointment for 3 40, but what will they do? will theys end him to hospital?

How is he? DD2 had bloods done, plus ultrasound a few months back. All they found was some enlarged gland. She was in the ward with a burst appendix girl just before Christmas, I felt sorry for her and her mum. They had to stay in, 3 other children at home.

thankfully, he seems to of made a good recovery, they think it was mesenteric adenitis, the bloods they took last night showed an elevation of white blood cells, and they repeated today and it is lower, not normal but is going down, he is a lot better in himself and the pain is barely there now so they have discharged him, we've just got in, im going for a nice hot bubbly bath now and tow ash my hair as i slept at the hospital last night in my clothes lol. thanks for the concern everyone.

Join the club loopy! All of a sudden you discover an ailment you never heard of before - it does seem to be taken seriously by medical staff though, not just treated as 'a sore tummy'.

yep i was getting quite scared, at one point 6 medical people walked into his cubicle

Glad he is improving and is home. Great news. Have a long soak in the bath!
