Has anyone had a toenail fall off? What is the best thing to do?

My big toe nail fell off after I had banged it. It just grew back eventually although I did paint the skin the same colour as the rest of my toes! Am sure that's not the best thing to do but have had no problems!!

toenails can take months to regrow. It is probably best for your friend just to keep it clean and dry and it will come back eventually. I managed to take my thumb nail off by slamming a door on it when I was a child - it must have grown back because it's here now!!

I've lost several through running - leave it alone, it will grow back!

I lost my big one after cracking it, it will grow back and she doesn't need to do anything but it will take months.
