DS's testes have 'disappeared' - anyone had any experience with this?

Poor DS has been complaining since Saturday that his winkie?s sore. Took him to the GP this arvo & his testes have disappeared - they?ve apparently popped back up inside his body & his scrotum looks like a wee deflated balloon (I know - TMI). No idea why or when or if they?ll come down again so he?s being referred to the hospital. The GP thinks ?cos of his age (20 months) they?ll just keep an eye on him & see if they reappear but he is in pain so hopefully they won?t leave it too long. Problem is if they don?t reappear the only thing that?ll fix ?em is an operation so I?m a tad upset tonight

Has anyone had any experience of this & is it easily fixed?

Hello Greebos - I'm sorry you've had a potentially upsetting diagnosis.

I'm very sorry, I've got no experience of this at all, but it must be making you very anxious.

Bumping this in case any one else knows more.

Sorry folks but bumping in case anyone can help.

Thanks for the kind words onebatmother.

Hello Greebos

I found this factsheet - it's quite straightforward and reassuring, I hope - although no-one wants an op for their child, of course.

Hopefully someone else will be along soon with actual experience.
