Mooncup won't stay in

Can anyone help me- it just won't stay up there. I've had it for a few months now and it's driving me mad each time I try- I want to get rid of my tampons!

Any advice appreciated.

i use the push down fold on mine. when i have inserted it i squeez the base and then twist slightly. this usually makes the suction work and it stays up?
tis only my second time using it so def. no expert

Try inserting it further up than they say in the instructions. Mine seems to be happiest quite far up and finds its place naturally, as it were.

do you have the correct size? do you have any trouble with your pelvic floor in general - ie, leaking? when you put it in, do you feel all round to make sure it has completely unfurled, and twist a little bit, to get good suction?

TMI here, but i often have trouble with mine staying in if I am needing a poo. And LOL, yes, I have got it in the right hole.

dylsmum1998 · 06/07/2008 09:58

lol i was on a thread about that the other week mawbroon, you are definately not alone in that

nannyL · 06/07/2008 17:16

just dont do what i did, and in trying to 'push it up' turn it inside out while inside !!!

I honestly thought id have to go to A&E but managed to grab it.... eventually!

spiritofstlouis · 06/07/2008 21:32

Thanks for your replies- had to chuckle nannyL and mawbroon!

My pelvic floor is definitely weaker than before DS but I thought it wasn't that bad... I did double check the mooncup size but it is the right one. If I twist it round to check for suction it seems to slip down again. Oh dear... will have yet another go at squeezing the base before twisting...

I have tried various ways, but the most successful seems to be to put it in fairly low, grab the stem and then lift my muscles. When I feel resistance on the stem, then I know that it is sealed.
