While i was preg i suffered really badly with pelvis/ hip and back pain. It used to be so bad in the evenings after sitting down for a while that i would stuggle to walk.

After i gave birth i had no more probs up till about a month ago. I have been getting pain in my left hip, and yesterday it switched to my right and the same is happening, after a day out ive sat down, when ive got up i am having a tiny problem when walking, and alot of pain sitting or standing.

What is this, ive seem the doc who just gave me pain killers that dont touch it???

Sounds like SPD. My ds is 4 weeks old and I had dreadful SPD when I was pregnant. In the last few days I have noticed that when I sneeze my right hip feels like it is going to pop out of its socket at the front It is horrible and very painful, so I am going to try and see GP about it next week- my pelvis felt so weak in my pregnancy (my second) that I am already worried wether or not I could ever cope with pregnancy again. If you had problems in pregnancy I would say go to the GP- apparently SPD can take a while to go completely. Maybe you need some physio?

If it is that though i find it so weird that i was fine for 5 months after giving birth. Why take so long to start up again?

No idea! I do wonder though if things like this can lie dormant and then be exacerbated by something- when i was told the extent that my pelvis had literally loosened up I was quite shocked and it is an injuy in a way, so I can understand how it can seem to be 'healing' and then perhaps become a problem again. I have heard that pilates is good for strengthening the pelvis, so that might be worth a shot too.
