Dd (2)was in hosp last Weds and Thurs with what we were told was viral gast. Yesterday we were informed that it was actually campylobacter. Can people tell me more about this. Does it make people ill instantly, does it build up etc.. Two docs called us. One said dd needs to not go to nursery and be re-tested to check it has gone, then another one rang and said provided 48hours has passed with no probs she is fine to go. Which one is right?

Dd still says stomach hurts on occasions-does this mean she still has it?

We have a pet bird-could he be the problem?

I would cancel. Sorry, but you're obviously unwell.

Can I just offer some advice too? If there's any chance that this is campylobacter then do not take immodium or anything of that sort. I gave ds2 immodium and his stomach pain was much worse than dd. The hospital said it wasn't a good thing to do.

Hope you feel better soon.

Oh no you poor thing

Saggers is right immodium is a big no no, it will make your symptoms worse. I really hope you feel better soon and remember handwash, handwash, handwash to prevent spreading. Think you are going to have to cancel

I believe it is once you are symptom free, maybe give yourself 24/48 after last bout of diarrhoea! Does your school have a D&V policy for the children?

In my illness and exhaustion just realised dd went off without her dose of antibioics this morn to nursery. Is it better to just leave the missed dose or take it up there and give late. It is day 5 of taking it.
