Anyone else been given contraceptive pills with the days of the week in a foreign language?

Got mine from our local pharamacist a month or so ago.
The days seem to be in portuguese or something.
Sab, Dom, 2aF, 3aF, 4aF, 5aF, 6aF.

It seems a bit irresponsible to me. I have a fairly good grasp of languages and still have to think about it every morning to make sure i haven't missed one etc.

I went back to the pharmacist and asked if they could replace them with the ones i used to get. They said, yes but they are more expensive and they are only supposed to buy in the cheapest versions.

Any one else bothered by this?
or maybe it's just me.

It is whats called a parallel import. The pharmacy get paid a set amount for each item dispensed as per the drug tariff, and so the cheaper they can source it the more profit they can make. For some items it's pennies but for branded stuff it can be quite a bit.

So the contents of the tablets should be the same (this is how fake viagra reached the pharmacy shelves!), and before distribution in the uk it should have been re-packaged so it was labelled adequately in english. If it is causing you problems in that you are unsure whether you have taken that days then I don't think YABU to ask for a pack manufactured for the uk market. If not then use a different pharmacy.

Thanks.
They have said they will replace them but only because i went in and complained.
I don't want to get pregnant because my portuguese isn't up to scratch.

I would def complain in that situation too. I find portuguese days so confusing - Monday is 2f, not 1 like I would naturally think. So YANBU.

What I did once, when I was given the 28day packet, was to take an indelible pen and write the days of the week over the numbers. It helped me a lot.
