What can I do to stop my feet/ankles swelling so much in the summer?!

I know that I probably can't get rid of it completely, because that's my make up, as such, but every summer my feet and ankles puff up and get really swollen and are just hideous to look at, tricky to get shoes on and can ache a bit by evening time. It doesn't seem to matter if I'm on my feet all day or not, it still happens. I'm trying to drink more water, on the off-chance that that might help but ....

... do any of you get this too and, if so, are you able to give me any suggestions in order to reduce my 'warm weather elephantitis'?

TIA!

I get this too. Not really bad, but I do notice at the end of the day that my feet and ankles are swollen and achey.

I put my feet up on a chair when watching tv in the evening, but apart from that I have no other suggestions.

Hope someone else does.

Avoid salty foods- they encourage water retention which may add to the problem.

Drink lots of water.

Before you hop out of the shower in the morning, turn the water to icy cold and rinse your legs as high up as you can bear. This will improve the ciculation and lymphatic drainage.

Thank you for your messages. So it's because I have poor circulation and lymphatic drainage ... and don't drink enough water and consume too much salt is it?!
