Hi,
I seem to recall that there was a similar thread to this one that i am about to start, but couldn't find it. I had a mirena coil fitted in march this year, and have had regular AF since then, actually not really noticed a difference at all. But this month there's not been anything: i am now a week late, but had a bit of pink spotting, literally only a bit on toilet paper, nothing else. I have lost the patient info, but IIRC there was something on having to test if a certain time overdue. I am getting a bit worried, as i am feeling a bit sick, and have a sudden revulsion for certain smells (meat mainly), both of which i had during my two pg-s. I couldn't be pregnant could i?

Go to the family planning for a preg test, but, 60% of people have very light or no periods with Mirena after the intial settling in time.

thanks for your reply! i finally phoned the family planning clinic, and they said to wait until 6 wks (2wks late), as long as i don't get cramps, and then do a test (can do at home). i just never thought i'd be one of the women who don't get periods on mirena, as on same/similar hormones (in minipill) i bled (almost) continuousy...

Hi It took around 6 months for my periods to be virtually non-existant on the coil. I always bled/spotted etc on the minipill too. Did they teach you how to feel the threads to check it was still in place because if it's going to drop out it tends to happen within the first few months of having it.
