I have knee oesteoarthritus for about 10 years now and it's getting a lot worse. It seems to catch and feels like a shock in my knee but then is ok but hurts mostly all the time. I walk a lot and exercise and can get about ok. Have done all the physio and injection (which didn't work) I am 57 and quite fit not overweight.

I worry they will just fob me off and I will have to continue as I am. What happens at the initial meeting?

You must provide a healthcare expert with every detail of your condition. Explain your symptoms to the doctor so they could provide you a proper management plan for your condition. After a complete examination they might suggest you any medicine or therapy maybe but whatever they suggest, you must consider it to help your condition getting better.

I’m 18 months on from a total knee replacement. Mine ordered Xray’s listened to my description of my symptoms and read my history, examined my knees the bad and the good one, looked at my Xray’s. He then put me on his list for surgery The injections didn’t work for me either. Good luck
