Hi
I had some bloods done that included liver check
Results are higher than they should be, I will see GP but any idea if this could be bile duct stones (I had it before) or just probably fatty liver/ weight related?
ALT 44 GGT 80.
Not diabetic, don’t drink, just in obese range, weight around middle, cholesterol & triglycerides high. Take pain meds regularly.
Had gallbladder removed & stones stuck before.
previous bloods a year ago liver fine.
SHBG 22.9.
Have probs digesting fats since gallbladder removed. Usually gluten free but ate a lot of gluten in wk before test could it be coeliac?
Have been in poor health for 10 years, diagnosed CFS, fibro, endometriosis & had hysterectomy
Thanks

Just bumping this thread for you, OP.

From my experience and it sounds like yours too, if youve got stones blocking your bile duct, you know about it!! So the pain is the first indicator rather than blood test results.

Someone much more knowledgeable than me will be able to explain your blood results.

I think these are often raised with fatty liver

Does anyone know if the results are high enough to be fatty liver??

Hey so my liver enzymes have been elevated. ALT is 48 down from 68 and ggt has gone from 40 to 80. Gp said next course of action is full liver blood tests and maybe an ultrasound. I asked what could be the cause and she said it could be fatty liver. Our numbers are pretty much the same. What did you dr say?

@Bellieboo123 I have an appointment on Monday, was just going to ask if they can re run it at first because i’ve had private bloods done before and the NHS ones have been lower for some reason.
Panicing a bit tbh. Cholesterol also high & Im wondering if thats affecting my liver. Was thinking about asking for a statin.

Worried they will stop the pain meds unnecessarily if it my weight/diet/cholesterol

They’ve been raised for about 3 months now but one enzyme is on the way back down. I have high cholesterol too which I also think can happen with fatty liver disease

Hey, did you get any update at your appointment?
