Steri-strips ..... do I need to phone the doctors ?

DS1 had his chin glued and 3 steri strips put on after he gave himself a nasty gash on Sunday.

Overnight one has fallen off.

We were told they would fall of after a week or we could take them off then.

Shall I take him to the docs to get another one put on or just leave it?

What would you do ?

Check where it has fallen off from,see if it is gaping.

If not,don't worry and leave well alone.

If it is gaping and could do with the support take him to the Practice Nurse asap., as the longer you leave it the more "healed" it will be,and you won't be able to close the gap.

Generally if has been glued,Steristrips were only used for a little extra support for the first couple of days,not usually essential that they stay on,unless you can see the wound pulling open. HTH

He's still asleep at the moment, so I 've managed to have a good look. It doesnt appear to be open, but my word it does look sore. Poor chap
