funny little blood spots on lower abdomen

Anyone any idea? Ds (2 years old) has a cluster of bright red marks around his tummy button and on his bum, back, lower tummy and top of his thighs. We thought they were jam or scratches, but they don't come off in the bath and the skin isn't broken. He's been right whingey all day which we assumed was molars coming through.

apart from whingey, is he well?

Check that they disappear when you do the "glass test" ie press a glass against them and they should fade.

he is well, in that he has no temperature, but we did give him nurofen this afternoon because he seemed to be off colour. I will try the glass test.
