Fasting...eating...energy slump

Yesterday I had to fast for 12 hrs before a blood test for cholesterol. It was over night so I didn;t have anything to drink or eat in the morning save a little water.
After my blood test (wasn't feeling particularly hungry strangely enough but thought I should eat) I had some marmite on toast and a cup of tea. I had an immdiiate energy slump where I could hardly stand up. Would this have been caused by the fast or the food I had eaten/tea?

I have been under incredible stress for a long time and don't have the greatest energy levels anyway, but have not experienced such a violent energy slump. I do notice that after lunch i'm quite lethargic

It's the fast and the food - all your blood was going to your stomach. After such a long fast, something with a bit of sugar (e.g. a banana) might not be an error, to give you a boost.

The slump after lunch - do you often eat a lot of white carb at lunch? It makes people sleepy.
