Full stomach despite fasting before gastroscopy, could it suggest gastroparesis?

I recently went for a gastroscopy to investigate ongoing indigestion/ stomach pain and bloating. But I have to have it repeated because they said that the oesophagus and stomach showed nothing abnormal but they couldn’t reach the duodenum because my stomach was full of food. I had stuck to the nil by mouth instructions carefully and this was seven hours after I had last eaten!
My next one has to be after a longer fast.
Anyone else had this? My post googling self diagnosis is gastroparesis.
It would explain me being so bloated ( blood test excluded ovarian cancer).

It sounds like some form of slow transit, certainly. I had similar issue with a colonoscopy, did the full prep, everything to the letter, diagnosis was motility disorder/slow transit.

Did you have to alter your diet or take any medication?

Yes. I had to have a colonoscopy and gastroscopy - followed the prep for both to the letter and they had to repeat the gastroscopy due to there being prep for the colonoscopy still left in my stomach 🙄 I do have a slow moving gut, so they made me fast for 48 hours before the repeat one which was a killer!

Yes, I take meds and majorly altered my diet, but know less about stomach, mine is more bowel.

I can understand why your mind has gone there after something unexpected like that. It could have several explanations though, so I wouldn't assume gastroparesis from this alone. Hopefully the repeat gastroscopy gives you some clearer answers.
