How long is the wait for urgent gallbladder removal?

On average, how long would a wait be for gallbladder removal marked as Urgent? Not in hospital or acutely ill, but do have chronic pancreatitis and in constant pain. No infection present anywhere.

I had my gall bladder out in 1992 - it took months to diagnose gallstones. I was young and skinny and diagnostics were not so great then. My gall
bladder was rammed with stones and they operated quickly, but I remember the pain being worse than anything. I really hope you get it sorted soon x

I had mine out last April, 14 weeks after being diagnosed with cholecystitis. Ended up having it out privately though as waiting times were long.

If waiting times are very long look into nhs S2 funding, you can get the operation abroad in an EU country quicker, funded by the nhs.

One month with pancreatitis, infected gallbladder & jaundice, NHS, Southeast England

Dh about 20 months from Cholecystitis to gall bladder removal. He was on the NHS ‘priority’ list. Never had any pains but became jaundiced one day and they found a stone had blocked his bile duct causing an infection. Infection cleared up after hospital stay but quite a wait for removal.

Im on a two week referral for a twisted ovarian cyst and the next appointment for a scan is mid October and it was only when I called did I find out it was for a scan I already had (transvaginal) and not the MRI they said I needed next. I’m on a cancellation waiting list and the NHS app says average time is 16 weeks (even though my appointment is before then) - but a two week referral means you must be seen in two weeks and diagnosed cancer or not within 28 days…I’ve gone in to speak to PALS in person as there’s been a failure of communication somewhere. I’m post menopausal so when the pain stopped they said as they didn’t need to worry about saving the ovary it wasn’t an emergency, but there’s a 50/50 chance of the pain returning and if it does then to get to A&E and they’ll probably operate. So I’m constantly on edge and feel like I’m in limbo.
