DD (3yo) had her 2nd bout of croup sat night, had a slight attack & we stayed over in hosp sat night as docs wanted to monitor her to see whether or not she needed steroids. Turned out she didnt and we came home sun.

tonight, ds started to cry for a feed, & as he breathed in & out when crying that unmistakable croupy sound is there. he's feeding now, no temp, but maybe explains his horrible cold, snuffly nose and watery eyes etc. & being v clingy and wanting my boob all day....

what should i do?? I am worried I am going to wake in the night & find him struggling to breath or something worse. the 1st time it happened with dd it was terrible, she could hardly breath and we were blue lighted to hosp...

hes asleep at the moment & his breathing sounds normal

try steaming him. i did it with both DS and DD and it seems to help them. but get in touch with doc or emergency doc if you're worried.

You need to take him along to your local childrens A&E, especially as he is very small. The treatment for croup has changed, they have found out that steaming is not effective and use nebulisers. If he starts to bark you need to phone an ambulance. It will make it worse if he cries to try as best as you can to keep him calm. I hope all is OK.

Take him if he starts to bark. Don't worry, they've seen it all before.
