MMR jabs last week and losing her balance all the time - connected?

Has anyone else experience of this?

My dd (14 months) is active, happy and healthy. She had her MMR last Friday, and that went fine, with no reaction.

A few days later she had a high temp, listlessness, whinging/crying constantly so we took her to the doc, who said it was probably a tummy bug/virus (she'd had a little diahorrea).

Since the bug (the past 4/5 days) she's been a bit wobbly on her feet when she was a strong confident walker before. She will fall over out of nowhere, quite often. She seems a little out of sorts, tired looking all the time and pretty grouchy. The runs have cleared up but she still seems just not herself.

Any diagnoses?!?! Feel a little like my doc thinks I'm a neurotic first time mum but I have a funny feeling there'sa something up.

Any ear infection? The MMR? (trying not to be freaked out by the MMR/autism thing as it is).

Help - any clues??????

Prob coincidence.
dc4 had mmr and that night started banging his head off doors in the house! He'd never done it before and i was beside myself, convinced he'd been damaged. He did it for 3 days and then stopped???!!!

yes, had exactly the same thing - and i believe i've seen others mention this balance thing before - it;s not common however.

Rest assured my son's diarrhoea and his falling over both resolved and 9 months on he is absolutely fine.

Of course, if you do feel worried, go to the docs though.

"and you get all your visits logged just in case there is a connection and you need to sue!"

Good to see you've got your priorities straight....

Just to reassure you, my preschool called me aside to say that DD (2.6) had fallen 3 times in one session (over nothing) - I took her to the doctors & apparently it's a bug.
