Apart from the obvious, what can make a period late?

I am always 28 days, very occasionally 27 or 29. I am now 2 days late and panicking irrationally.

Any fail safe ideas for bringing a period on?

stress is one cause (delays ovulation)

You can;t speed up a period as it is dependant on when you ovulated - did you do anything stressful/unusual 2 weeks ago?

Last week and the weekend just gone was incredibly stressful and I put that down to the usual kids behaviour and my period coming. Just no sign of it yet.

4 days late now and getting a bit worried. I am pretty sure I can't be pg so what else is it?

yep stress can cause that. As can a sudden weight loss.

Mine over the last few months have been doing the same. Used to be bang on 27 days every time... last one was 34 days

I found spending £10 on a pregnancy test in a panic and getting a negative helped my period start... 3 hours later

Early menopause runs in my family ... it has flitted across my mind that maybe I'm in early stages

TBH I am always stressed though so what is different?

No weight loss unfortunately, maybe 1-2lbs.

I don't know my family medical history so no idea about early menopause. Any clues how I can find out?

I felt so cold when I got inthe shower last night, like I was in shock, and I feel queasy too.

Pregnancy test then appointment with the GP?

itati · 27/06/2008 10:53

I am thinking I might be okay.

Have tummy ache proper so fingers crossed.

Could just be a random blip Maybe you're fighting off some sort of bug which has thrown you out of sync a bit...

micci25 · 27/06/2008 11:01

stress, poor diet, illness, being around another woman a lot...your cycles tend to synchronise
