Anyone had a mouth Biopsy?

My dentist referred me as have "patches" in my mouth.
Having a biopsy on Monday of inside my cheeks. Anyone had this? I am a bit squeamish, and the consultant saying its no worse than having a filling hasn't fully reassured me.

Thanks @banmusk . Yes, he did explain it to me. I'm being a bit of a wuss about it, but hopefully I'll get properly numb and get through it. 🤞

I think it's harder because it's in your mouth. Or in others words 'right in your face', I mean it's harder to distance yourself from what's going on & from the psychological & physical discomfort.
Hope it goes ok, it'll soon be done now🤗

Just come back from this appt. It was fine. The staff were absolutely lovely, put me at my ease and I didn't feel a thing.
Fingers crossed now that the results are clear of anything problematic. 🤞

Yes. I went to a room full of 9 dentist chairs. They put a mouthguard in and then snip snip. Spent 20 mins trying to put in a stitch. Didn’t hurt. I also am a fainter and didn’t faint so wasn’t that bad.

I had one done two years ago on the hard palate of the roof of my mouth, as I had some weird growth. I had a couple of numbing injections and didn't feel the biopsy at all. It was all over in a matter of minutes. The weird growth had to be removed but wasn't cancerous. That was all very straightforward too. The stitch got a bit annoying but eventually fell out. That was probably the worst bit. Good luck @Cuppachuchu .

i had two punch biopsies in my mouth and also biopsies of conjunctiva in both eyes. Local anaesthetic stung a bit, actual biopsies were painless. Not nearly as bad as my imagination beforehand.
