Bought a bottle of medised yesterday from Lloyd's pharmacy, sorry Lloyd'spharmacy, for my 11mo son.

Mentioned it to a friend today who said she'd tried to buy some for her DD, same age, and was told it was only for over 2s. Since when? Anyone know why?

Bit confused as I've been using it on and off with him since he was 3 months

Since 27 March this year.

many cough mixy=tures have been withdrawn for under 2's.

Pharmacisst was very naughty.

As I recall it's because an overdose is very bad for teenies, and presumably a number of accidental overdoses have happened.

here

They should have checked you weren't giving it to an under 2

Thats not really true.

There have been ODs in eth US, less so here. It is not erally an overdose of medised. It is an overdose of Paracetamol caused by a parent giving 2 paracetamol containing products or an overdose of anti-histamine because a parent has given 2 differen anti-histamine containing meds....
