Another mnetter Laughalot flew out to minorca on Friday and her ds has come out in chickenppox over the weekend shes text asking can she still put suntan lotion over the spots as ds is fine in himself and weants to go outside and play?

he is now dreading her dd catching it as immunisation time means its likely she'll get her spots as they atre due to fly home [sa]

I still used Ambre Solaire on dd - it was a hot summer and she stayed in garden in and out of paddling pool. LAL will still ahve to keep her ds away from others though , you donlt know who has suppressed immunity to such infections. At least 5 days from onset of spots is considered contagious(local rules may differ) and he won't be able to fly home during this time. Incubation is 10 days to 3 weeks so rather depends when her dd was exposed(ie if same source as ds or just ds) as to when she might get it , or of course she may not !

ab thanks will text her babck, thankfully they have a private garden/pool so that means they are not stuck indoors to stay away from other children (also MIL went with them so extra pair if hands) My dd1 came out with it Xmas Eve and dd2 11 days later (day before her 1st birthday) so didnt have to worry about sunlotion then!
