Given that he is so young, what's the best treatment? Do I need to see a GP?

Gaffer/Duct Tape! Seriously, it works, is cheap and pain free. I have just cleared an almighty VERY longstanding (years) verrucca using this. GPs recommend it now. Also, not as smelly as the banana treatment!

Cover with tape & try to leave on for 6 days. If it falls off, replace asap. AFter 6 days, peel off, pick/scrape/file off any hard skin, leave for 24 hours and re-cover.

repeat for 4-8 weeks. Mine went within 4.

i used salactol on mine - have to be v.carefl not to get it on normal skin, but works well. bazuka is not much use - don't know anyone who has had success with it.

Our GP recommended leaving DDs alone. It went by itself after about 12 months. Hers was on her toe though and not painful at all.

go for the banana skin or the duct tape, both work. Or do what I did and stick banana skin on with duct tape

I think that the current advice for under 12's is to leave them alone (the veruccas that is)and they'll go away on their own
