Upper abdominal tightening after eating, has anyone experienced this?

For the past few days I’ve had upper abdominal pain that comes in waves and feel like a tightening in the centre. Uncomfortable more than painful but similar to a very small
contraction. Worse after eating something. I’ve been a bit constipated and feel like I could have trapped wind. Also on my period so thought it was this at first but I’m near the end and it’s persisting. I’ve just been on holiday with richer food and got back to the UK and had a chippy which I haven’t had for months. I know it could be any of these things but I’m a worrier and wondering if anybody had experienced this type of pain before.

I have done, when I overeat. Now, I try to eat and stop at feeling satisfied, not to fill all the space. Also, over spicy foods is uncomfortable.

Keep an eye on it.. could be gallbladder or pancreas. Especially if eating fatty foods such as chippy or anything spicy xx

Reflux / gerd?

This was exactly how I found out I had gallstones. Rich or fatty food is the classic trigger for biliary colic, where a stone blocks the bile duct.

See your GP and ask if they will refer you for an ultrasound scan - the little buggers show up clear as day.

In the meantime, eat small amounts of low fat food regularly. You get symptoms when the gallbladder tries to push out more bile to deal with those rich and fatty foods, so you can avoid a world of pain by sticking to very low fat and bland foods.
