Could these have been focal aware seizures?

I'm nearly mid 40s and have had some hormone/period issues since having covid, but I've also just started having tonic clonic seizures. They're triggered by the same thing as something else I've been having for 6 or 7 years but didn't realise what it was. When I listened to certain songs, I'd get this really nasty dark sensation wash over me and sometimes wouldn't be able to recall the date for a minute or two afterwards. Does anyone know if these sound like focal aware seizures? They always tended to happen around my time of the month! Waiting to hear back from my neurologist at the moment!

Yes. Could be. Horrible feeling aren’t they.
Theres a type of epilepsy called catamenial epilepsy - which is linked to your cycle/ hormones.
i wish I understood it better.

Yes, I had no idea what they were until they turned into full seizures. They definitely seem linked to my hormones. I'm hoping if I can get those right, maybe my seizure threshold will go back up a bit!

Or Psychogenic Non-Epileptic Seizures, if triggered by a song.

That's interesting as in so many ways they seem to sound right..... but I've bitten the side of my tongue.... doesn't that make it unlikely?

Could be. I have epilepsy- never had a tonic clinic but I have temporal lobe epilepsy which causes focal aware - I get a massive sense of Déjà vu like trying to remember a dream that you can’t quite ‘get’. I feel sick, sometimes I am sick or I pass out (or both). Mine started in perimenopause. I’m medicated now.

Thank you! I've only been married 2 years and we're carers for my bedbound mother, so it's a nightmare!!
