health anxiety 😢

i have this lump which i have had for a while on my gum, it doesn’t hurt i only know it’s there cause i felt it with my tongue.
i do have a dentist appointment but i have the worst health anxiety and im sending myself round the bend 😢

OP, most causes of lumps on the gum are not serious. If it doesn’t hurt and you don’t have toothache, it’s highly unlikely to be an abscess. Only the dentist will be able to tell you - but really, I wouldn’t be losing sleep over it.

What treatment are you having for the health anxiety?

What mental health support have you had OP? I'd be seeking further support.

For your own confidentiality, I'd ask MNHQ to remove the pic as it shows your face and absolutely no gum lump- not visible in the pic anyway. You already have a dental appointment and there is no diagnosis. I had a lump under my tongue and by the time my appointment came up- it was gone. Wishing you all the best.
