Post natal joint pain. 7 months, will it go away?

Since birth of DD, my joints just seem to ache especially at night. I'm so stiff. My ankles are the worst but also my knees, wrists and elbows to an extent.

I'm going on now but one of my feet is quite tender I'm not doing very much as spend most of the day sitting on the floor trying to entertain DD so I don't really understand it. I suffered from carpal tunnel whilst pregnant (gone now) and the feeling is quite similar to that in my other joints.

Any ideas?

This is quite common I think. I remember getting it quite bad for about 18 months after my DS was born (I used to go down the stairs like a crab in the morning !!). I was told that it was to do with the pregnancy hormones affecting the joints. It did go eventually though although I am just about to have number two so I hope it doesn't come back

To be honest I would not associate this with childbirth. Go to GP and get tested for arthritis which can flare after delivery - esp rheumatoid which is treatable.

I hope its not arthritis!

Best to check it out. My DH was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis 3 years ago and received treatment. He is now symptom free and has been weaned off the medication.
