paranoid mother alert...moles

just noticed that ds1 (12) has a mole that is an irregular shape. it's on his leg.

i haven't noticed it before as he's at the age where he doesn't like me looking anymore !

he says it doesn't itch or anything but just wanted to know if i should be worried as i thought they were supposed to be smooth edged.

can anyone advise please ?

Getting new moles at his age is normal, usually they are smooth edged, but they can be a funny shape.
It probably IS nothing but there's only one way to know for sure: take him to your GP and let him/her have a look. And don't worry about being paranoid, it's a mother's job to be paranoid

thanx i'll probably take him tomorrow, he has bad skin on his hands so need to go about that aswell.

don't think it's a new mole, well he seems to think he's had it ages, but it'd the shape that i am worried about
